Shepard’s Awards
Shepard’s Awards Show
The Shepard's Awards were established in 2016 by Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) to award and honor the outstanding contributions and achievements the campus of North Carolina Central University has experienced over the academic year. The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live at the McDougald-McLendon Arena. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by entertainers, and the awards will be given to honor the Truth and Service of our star students and organizations both inside and outside the classroom.
Nomination Process
There is a election committee made up of about 15 people from various student organizations, departments, divisions, and student organizations. SEAL sends out ballots electronically and voters nominate in all the different categories who they think should be award nominees. These are collated by the election committee and they narrow it to the top five nominees, and send that list back out the campus to vote on the winner.
Award Categories
The Award Categories will be announced on October 1, 2018.
