Payroll Office

Welcome to the North Carolina Central University Payroll Office. We are a department within the unit of the Comptroller’s Department and are responsible for the processing of all payroll and dual employment payments to North Carolina Central University faculty, staff, student and temporary employees. Our responsibilities include:

  • Manage the set up and update of direct deposit information for all payroll checks
  • Process dual employment payments for North Carolina Central University employees and CP30 check requests for outside agency employees
  • Process all income tax withholdings       
  • Issue year-end W-2 earnings statements
  • Determine foreign national taxation and issue 1042S forms to treaty-eligible non-resident aliens
  • Implement court-ordered garnishment, tax and voluntary payroll deductions
  • Complete employment verifications
  • Analyze contract and pay histories to ensure accurate payments to all employees
  • Collect non-student overpayments from active and terminated employees in accordance with North Carolina Attorney General and Department of Revenue guidelines
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients of the Payroll Office

Our mission is to provide timely and accurate payroll payments to all employees of North Carolina Central University in compliance with federal, state, and city regulations and University policies. We will provide efficient support to our campus partners by maintaining and submitting confidential information to employees, departments, financial institutions and external agencies.

This service will be accomplished by adhering to all Office of State Personnel, UNC General Administration, Shared Services and NCCU Human Resources and Finance and Administration policies and procedures.
