NCCU Chancellor Joins UNC System Leaders at Discussion

UNC-TV PBS will premiere “Focus on the Future: Innovations at NC's Historically Minority-Serving Institutions” featuring North Carolina Central University Chancellor Johnson O. Akinleye, University of North Carolina System leaders and chancellors of six System’s universities on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m.  With hosts Shannon Vickery and Deborah Holt Noel, the group will discuss innovations creating opportunities for students and communities.

The hour-long show will explore how North Carolina’s public HBCUs and University of North Carolina at Pembroke provide affordable, high-quality and research-driven educational opportunities. Viewers will also discover ways in which these universities are partnering with communities and businesses to make a greater influence on the state.

In addition to the roundtable discussion, informative featurettes explore such areas as affordability, return on investment, partnerships and business collaborations and unique culture and programming for student success at each participating university.
