How Do I Setup Microsoft Exchange E-Mail (Faculty and Staff) on an Android Smartphone


Initial Setup:

1.      Select the Menu to view your desktop icons.

2.      Select Settings > Accounts and Sync

3.      Select Add account (Add bottom of screen)

4.      Select Corporate. For the “Add an Exchange Account”.

Email address: ( YourUsername@nccu.edu )

Password: University password (same one used on PC)

Click Next

5.      Exchange Server Settings. Enter the following information then click on the NEXT button.

o    Domain : AD

o    Active Directory user name. This is the same username to log into computers on campus, checking your e-mail, etc.

o    Active Directory password.

o    Exchange Domain: webmail.nccu.edu 

Click Next Next Done!

Note: It may take a few minutes for your account to take effect.

Manually Changing your password on an Android

If the “soft reset” doesn’t work (removing the battery and powering the device back on) then from the home screen of your phone: press your email icon (make sure no email is openpress menu press more/press account settings/ scroll down to Server settings/Press Exchange server settings and check your settings- Domain: AD/ username: your username /Password: key in new Active Directory password / /Exchange server:webmail.nccu.edu/Press next. You can power off and back on.


Please also note that when you change your AD password, please update the password to the mobile device immediately or else the e-mails will not sync properly.
