Event Parking

Conference, Workshop and Seminar Parking

University Police encourage members of the university to use the short-term pay station whenever parking is needed for events, conferences, visits, to the bookstore and other situations when 40 or fewer spaces are needed. The cost at the short term-term pay lot is $1 for the first hour and 25 cents for each 15-minute increment after that. The pay station accepts credit cards and cash.

Conferences, events, or special situations needing more than 40 spaces should be coordinated through the Traffic Manager in the Parking Office at 919-530-5023. The price for these special events is $5 per event.

Vendor/Contractor Parking

All vendors working on campus are required to register their vehicles for a parking pass each school year. University departments may apply for vendor permits for any vendor that is contracted to do work for your department. All departments requesting vendor decals should pre-order for the decals.  No decals will be issued if the pre-order is not received by the University Police Department.

Football Parking

All Eagle Club and reserved parking for football game day will be handled through the Athletic Department.

During O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium events, traffic may be restricted. During football games, Nelson and Lincoln Streets, Campus Drive and George Street will be closed to through traffic starting at 7 p.m. on Fridays.  To better accommodate patrons and permit holders, certain lots will be reserved or have spaces reserved for employees who report for work on game days or evenings.  When football game restrictions are in effect, commuters and other employees, even those with valid permits, may not park in any of these lots, reserved spaces, or in public lots without paying the event fee.

Parking in residential student lots is reserved for students with a valid residential decal for those lots. Those scheduling other events on game days may make arrangements for parking with the Athletics Department at 919-530-7057.

Certain lots are reserved for Eagle Club parking. Employees and students are required to move their vehicles from the Walker Complex, O'Kelly Riddick, Criminal Justice, Law School, Campus Drive, Latham and Communication lots by 7 p.m. on the Fridays before home-game Saturdays. Employees with permits for these lots will have to pay to park on game days.
