Message from the Chair

Sharina Herbin

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the North Carolina Central University Staff Senate Website!

I am truly honored to serve as your Staff Senate Chair for the 2019–2021 term.

The Staff Senate facilitates communication, engagement, and cooperation between the Administration, SHRA, and EHRA Non-Faculty Staff of the North Carolina Central University campus. The Senate is committed to representing and communicating the needs and the professional welfare of the staff.  The Senate also works to ensure that staff contributions are recognized at NCCU. We value and respect the worth and contributions of all individuals at NCCU.

I will serve in an advisory capacity to the Chancellor and other University Administrators.

The Staff Senate consists of six elected Executive Team members and several delegate/alternate committee members representing their respective departments.

The Staff Senate meets every third Tuesday of each month for one hour, 2:00 pm–3:00 pm to discuss general business and participate in speaking engagements and formal talk. Any classified staff member is welcome to attend any of these meetings.

I look forward to seeing staff members at the meetings and events.

Very respectfully,

Sharnia Herbin
Staff Senate Chair (2019–2021)
