Dr. Jennifer Barrow is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, a National Certified Counselor, and a veteran professional school counselor turned counselor educator. Dr. Barrow serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Professions at North Carolina Central University.

Dr. Barrow knows personally the power afforded to school counselors to change the world one child at a time. She is passionate about mentoring former students and learning how to help counselors engage community and school-based stakeholders to support the whole child. In her research, she strives to understand how counselors develop and how counselor educators can best train future school counselors and enhance the role of school counselors. She is currently the School Counseling Program coordinator and teaches the capstone school counseling course, theories course,counseling children with special needs, psychosocial development,counseling children and adolescents, and supervises clinical experiences. Dr. Barrow mentors and supports students in their efforts to present and publish. She regularly presents at state, regional, and national conferences.

Dr. Jennifer Barrow received her Ph.D. from North Carolina State University, Masters of Science from East Carolina University and her Bachelor of Science from Guilford College. Jennifer resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with her boys.
