Research Interests
The focus of my research is the study of signaling pathways and/or signaling molecules and how they might be altered by diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and autoimmune diseases and the development of novel drugs to combat these diseases.

STEM Education/Community Outreach
I am also very passionate about community outreach and STEM education and have participated in planning and implementation of programs that provide hands-on science activities for elementary, middle school, and high school students in after-school programs, summer camps and BRITE Futures at NC Central University. I have also facilitated workshops for middle school and high school STEM teachers to enhance student engagement and learning.
NC STEM ID
I am currently the executive director of NC STEM ID which is a program that provides a multi-faceted approach to create a STEM identity for students through cross-curriculum professional development opportunities with a STEM focus for middle school and high teachers and STEM engagement opportunities for middle and high school students in Edgecombe, Martin, and Nash counties with NC.
