Getting Started with Technology - Employees

Welcome to NCCU! Below are a few items to get you started at the university.


On our campus be sure to connect your mobile devices to the Eagles WiFi network.  Our campus wireless network requires that you log-in once a semester. You can connect 6 devices to the network.  Visit the link below for more information.


Getting Help

The Eagle Technical Assistance Center (ETAC) the front line of support for the ITS department.  You can contact ETAC by:
  1. Visit https://helpdesk.nccu.edu and submit a trouble ticket. Login to the ticketing system with your NCCU username and password.  
  2. Call ETAC at 530-7676 and speak to one of our friendly ETAC representatives.

NCCU Username & Password

Every faculty, staff, and student will be assigned an NCCU Username and Password. This username and password will be your key to accessing most of the resources provided by NCCU, including campus computers, NCCU network, email, Blackboard, and much more. If you do not have your NCCU username and password, please speak with your supervisor to ensure they complete the NCCU Active Directory Account Request Form located at http://www.nccu.edu/formsdocs/proxy.cfm?file_id=722.

Password Management

Every faculty and staff member is given the resources to reset, change and recover their own password. To visit the page, log into myEOL and click on the Employees link under the My Navigation Section. Next click on Self Service Password Management link and register your username.

my EOL

myEOL is a portal designed to make accessing NCCU resources even simpler. This "one stop shop" gives you access to all of your NCCU accounts (Blackboard, Banner, your email, etc.) from this one location. In addition, it provides direct links to information pertaining to ITS and many other important offices on campus and provides you with the latest campus news. To access myEOL visit: www.nccu.edu and click on the Login to myEOL hyperlink at the top right of the page.


The Banner system serves as the central administrative system for housing data at North Carolina Central University. There are two types of Banner access, Banner Self Service and Internet Native Banner.  The type of access needed varies depending on a user's responsibilities. Visit myEOL to access Banner.

Microsoft Distribution Program

North Carolina Central University is able to offer Microsoft Office Pro Plus and Windows Upgrades at a deeply discounted rate of $29.99 (plus tax) through the Microsoft Distribution Program. Visit the link below for more information.


University Laptop Program

North Carolina Central University is committed to providing the tools necessary to be successful here at the university.  In keeping with this commitment, NCCU has reached agreements with Dell and Apple that will provide our NCCU community with the opportunity to purchase fully-featured wireless laptop computers at discounted prices through our University Laptop Program. Personal Computer Repairs

The Eagle Technical Center (ETC) provides hardware and software repair for personal computers that belong to students, faculty and staff of NCCU.  Faculty and staff members can receive support on their personal devices for a small fee at the ETC. Visit the link below for more information.


Security Tips to Keep you Safe at NCCU

  1. Make sure your computer is protected with anti-virus and all necessary security "patches" and updates.
  2. Secure laptop computers and mobile devices at all times: Lock them up or carry them with you.
  3. Use passwords that can't be easily guessed, and protect your passwords.
  4. NEVER click on a link in an email and give someone your password.
