Academic Advising Process

During Student Orientation Advising & Registration, you will have your first meeting with an academic advisor. New first-year and transfer students enter the University College at North Carolina Central University and are required to meet with their academic advisors multiple times each semester. During the initial one-on-one meeting with your advisor, a review of your desired academic program, including the general education curriculum and general academic policies (academic progress, holds, schedules, grade point average, etc.), and an overview of the registration process will take place.

Notice: Students are required to meet with their advisors throughout each semester; however, it is imperative that they meet with their advisors prior to registration. Since students meet with advisors frequently, it may be necessary and is recommended that students schedule appointments.

To ensure security, Alternate PIN (APIN) Numbers are necessary for registration and are changed every semester.
