Global Citizen Certificate

Earn a Global Citizen Certificate (GCC) Before You Graduate!

All NCCU students (undergraduate and graduate) are eligible for the certificate program.

You may have started the process if you have done any of the following:

  • Completed courses with international/global themes
  • Traveled abroad or plan to go abroad while at NCCU
  • Registered as an international student
  • Fulfilled approved community service hours to graduate

Why GCC?

  • YOU become more marketable - Employers prefer applicants who can work across cultures/have intercultural skills/can understand issues from different cultural perspectives
  • YOU prepare for leadership in a global society
  • YOU broaden your horizons

Earn the GCC by fulfilling the following five requirements:

  • Onboarding course (3 credit hours)
  • Global courses (12 credit hours)
  • International experience (study abroad/internship abroad/volunteer abroad)
  • Service engagement (minimum of 25 approved community service hours abroad OR within an immigrant community in the U.S.)
  • Capstone project
